Friends of Aaittafama' Archaeological Park

Aaittafama' Archaeological Park is the site of a 15th century Mississippian Indian town located on Old Hickory Boulevard in Nashville, Tennessee. It's being developed as part of the Metro Nashville Parks system with the aim of protecting and interpreting this unique archaeological resource.

The Mississippian town at Aaittafama' Archaeological Park was surrounded by a palisade wall, similar to the one shown being built above.The illustration is from an interpretive panel at Shiloh Mounds National Historic Landmark in West Tennessee, site of another Mississippian Indian town on the Tennessee River.
